Where this came from
It started with a habit. Every few days we'd hear about some app or game or odd little website, write the name on a scrap of paper, and then lose the scrap. A week later nobody could remember what it was called. Earnastic is the tidy version of that scrap of paper: a single page we could actually find again.
Friends asked if they could look at it too. A few more joined after that, and the page grew into the site you're reading now.
What you'll find here
Earnastic is a browsable list of newer apps, games and online services. Entries are added as we come across them, with the most recent at the top. You can scroll through, open anything that looks interesting, and leave the rest. There are no categories to learn and no settings to work through first.
We don't try to cover everything. A shorter list that's mostly worth opening beats a long one you have to wade through.
How the list gets put together
- We keep an eye on what's launching and what people are mentioning.
- We look at each candidate ourselves before it goes on the list.
- Anything that stops working, or turns out to be a letdown, comes off again.
- We tidy up now and then so the page stays quick to read.
What we try to hold to
Keep it plain
If something needs a long explanation, we'd rather simplify it than write the explanation.
Be straight with people
No fake countdowns and no pressure. If something isn't ready, we say that.
Look after your details
We keep what's needed to run your account and no more than that.
Who's behind it
A very small team. There are no layers of approval, so a fix usually goes out the same day someone spots the problem. When members write in, a person reads it, and those emails have shaped more of the site than any plan we made in advance.
